Letter from Connie G.

September 2005

I loved a job I felt was stolen from me. I then started using drugs and alcohol. This addiction became my everyday routine for ten years. I was spending every penny I received, earned, or borrowed to get it. I couldn?t get another job because I couldn?t pass a drug test. After becoming homeless again, I decided that there must be a better way to live. I decided to accept treatment. This was my 1st treatment. I was told most people don?t make it their 1st treatment. I completed the residential treatment living at the 1st Step Home for 4 months. In my transitional phase of recovery I was selected to be a part of the Blooming Rose Program. I began working before I left 1st Step Home. After leaving 1st Step Home, my employer thought enough of my work ability to keep me on at Cincinnati Catering.

The Blooming Rose Program gave me employment. It has gave me a new outlook on life again. It has given me security knowing that I?m depended on to be somewhere to do a job. Depended on to be on time. I?ve proven I can do that. I?m grateful to be one of the selected ones for the Blooming Rose Program. I love working again. I love my employer and my job. They are aware of the challenges I live and work under each day. I appreciate the Blooming Rose Program for giving me an opportunity to work again. I always put force my best effort in everything I do on the job. I look forward to be a Cincinnati Catering for a long time. I?m very proud of my accomplishment. Me being successful in the Blooming Rose Program is only by the Grace of God. By the Grace of God and through the fellowship of A.A. along with a great sponsor, I now have 16 month clean, and been working at Cincinnati Catering for over a year. Through the Blooming Rose Program I have a new outlook on life.

Happily Employed
